What to do when a reply is odd or in another language

The reply wasn't what you expected, or the character suddenly started speaking another language? Try the following.

Common causes

• The message was misunderstood: typos, symbols or foreign words can confuse the AI.
• The AI speaks many languages: now and then it may reply in a different one.

What to do

1. Regenerate the reply (try this first)

Choose Regenerate from the message menu to get a new reply. If something feels off, regenerate right away, before the conversation moves on — it works best then.

2. Edit your message

Fix your own message with Edit & Resend and the AI will reread the context and reply again. Remove stray foreign words or typos before resending.

3. Review the settings (for your own characters)

If a character's voice keeps drifting, revisiting its settings and conversation examples often helps. See "Test and tune" in the advanced guide.
